How Energy Efficient is Your
Home?
Using science, the latest technology,
and over 25 years of experience, Envergent
is dedicated to helping you save money, while
saving the planet - one home at a time.
"Increase
the value of your home by 2-5% with an
Envergent Home Energy Audit."
- The Appraisal Journal |
We do
this by providing homeowners with the information
and resources they need to keep their homes
working properly. Though much of the information
we provide will include do-it-yourself upgrades,
we also have a network of certified contractors.
They are available should you need any assistance
making energy efficient repairs or upgrades
to your home.
Carbon Footprints
We all contribute
to global warming each day. The carbon dioxide
you produce through home energy consumption
adds up quickly. You'd be surprised by how
much CO2 you emit each year.
Many things in your
home can devour energy. This includes inefficient
heating, air conditioning, and ventilating
systems. It also includes appliances that
are inefficient, windows and doors that leak,
and ceilings and walls that lack proper insulation.
This
is money out of your pocket, and it's bad for
the environment. The electricity generated
by fossil fuels for an average single home
puts more carbon dioxide into the air than
operating two average cars.

Profile - Find out just how efficient your
home is - Free!
Our Free Home Energy Profile
will let you know if your home is operating
efficiently based on its size and age. If your
home passes the Home Energy Profile, you will
then know that your home is energy efficient
and is not wasting your money.
However, should we uncover that your energy
consumption is higher than it should be based
on homes of similar size/age, we will then
provide you with a variety of ways to lower
your energy consumption, reduce your monthly
energy bill, and significantly reduce your
carbon footprint.

Home Energy Audits
Is your home less efficient
than it should be? Stop throwing money out
the window (literally). Let Envergent show
you where you can save energy - and cash!
An Envergent Home Energy Audit is the first
step in evaluating and understanding what measures
you can take to make your home more energy
efficient. We will uncover current or potential
problems that will, once corrected, save you
significant amounts of money over time.
During our extensive ten
stage audit, we will pinpoint exactly where
your house is losing energy, along with all
of your options to resolve the problem, from
do-it-yourself solutions to professional remedies,
to professional remedies.
Our Home Energy Audit will
also determine the efficiency of your home's
heating and cooling systems, and may reveal
ways that you can increase your comfort and
save money at the same time!
The Envergent Ten Step Audit includes:
1.) Energy Profile (Utility Bill Analysis)
This is the first step in our ten stage audit
that uses information found on your utility
bill to determine if your home is energy
efficient as compared to other homes of similar
size and age. This information also provides
us with a baseline of your home's performance,
and can be used to measure improvement as
upgrades and improvements are made.
2.) Lighting
Review your current
lighting situation and then recommend opportunities
to make adjustments. This is usually a very
easy and inexpensive way to save significant
money.
3.) Major Appliances
Review
your home's major appliances to determine how
energy efficient they are, what maintenance
needs to be done, and if they should be replaced
with energy efficient models.
4.) HVAC Systems
Review of heating, cooling and hot water systems
to determine what maintenance and/or adjustments
need to be done, and if they should be replaced
with energy efficient models.
5.) Duct Testing
Review of air ducts to determine efficiency.
Many homes suffer from ducts that leak and/or
contain dust/dirt. This can cause them waste
energy and create air quality and health
problems.
6.) Insulation
Review of the insulation in your home to determine
if there are opportunities to make improvements.
7.) Infra-Red Imaging
Using an infra-red camera designed for home
testing, we can literally "see" the thermal
difference caused by air movement and missing
insulation. Our infra-red camera allows us
to identify problem areas no other test can
determine.
8.) Blower Door Testing
With a blower door test, we will locate and
measure where your home leaks air and where
outside air leaks in. Reducing air leakage
is an effective way to improve energy efficiency.
9.) Education and Final Report
Upon
completion of the energy audit, we will develop
a final report that summarizes all of the data
we have gathered. We will then walk you through
this report and show you where you can make
improvements to your home to not only save
energy and money, but to also improve the healthiness
of your indoor environment, while reducing
your carbon footprint and improving the world's
environment.
10.) Energy Efficiency Certification
Once
you have made the suggested improvements and
upgrades to your home, we will return to retest
your energy efficiency. Should your home fall
within set parameters for energy efficient
homes in your area, we will issue you an Envergent
Home Energy Efficiency certificate. This will
certify your home's energy efficiency and increase
the value of your home. Please keep the document
with your important home papers should you
ever sell your home and place the included
green footprint stickers in your window to
let your neighbors know what you've done to
reduce your carbon footprint.
