Should I be concerned if my house has asbestos? Is it safe to be in my house?
Asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral included in the construction of many different building materials. Asbestos is most hazardous when airborne; therefore, if the building materials are not disturbed during renovation or demolition, the chances for asbestos exposure are limited. If affected building materials are disturbed, asbestos can cause significant health concerns. 

Should I be concerned if my house has mold? Is it safe to be in my house?
Yes, these issues can cause significant health and structural concerns if left untended to or if affected building materials are disturbed. Individuals with upper respiratory illnesses, asthma, or predisposition to lung related ailments may experience significant sensitivity to elevated mold environments. Therefore, mold infiltration within a living space, over a short of long period of time can lead to health related problems.

We can usually be there within one business day.

How accurate are your tests?
Envergent utilizes the most up to date sampling methodologies, equipment and laboratory services. Our laboratory partner is of the highest quality with numerous accreditations.

How long have you been in business?
Envergent is the offshoot of the 'Indoor Air Alliance', a non-profit started 5 years ago. IAA is dedicated to providing information and services for consumers, health care professionals and others concerned about indoor air pollution in the home.

What are the credentials of the inspector?
Our inspectors are certified in 5 key areas:

  • Asbestos - AHERA Certified Colorado Asbestos Building Inspectors
  • Mold - Certified Mold Assessor
  • Radon - Radon Inspector Environmental Solutions Association
  • Energy - BPI Certified Building Performance Analyst

How long will an Asbestos Inspection last?
Typically, less than 30 minutes

How long will a Mold Inspection last?
Typically, less than an hour

What is the sequence of events on site?

  • Inspector conducts a visual inspection of all affected areas
  • Inspector assess environmental, structural and health concerns related to the scope of the assignment
  • Inspector conducts any applicable sampling
  • Inspector interprets the lab results
  • Inspector develops a remediation protocol (if needed)

How long until I get the results?

  • Asbestos - 2 or 24 hours depending on customer needs
  • Mold - 6 - 24 hrs depending on customer needs

Are you the restoration company?
No, we are an independent third party with the homeowner's/building owner's interest as our prime concern. Doing both the testing and the restoration work is a conflict of interest. We partner with a highly qualified network of contractors we can refer you to.

How much does a test cost?
The cost depends on the job being done. According to a recent survey conducted by a national homeowners' insurance company our pricing is at or below the average in the Denver metro area. Typically covered by the insurance company, our price includes the trip charge*, site test, lab fees, and a complete and easy to understand report.

* A nominal fee is charged outside the metro area.
